A Consensual Qualitative Research on Intervention of Smoking Cessation Counselors on the Smoking Issues of the Off-Campus Adolescents

Abstract
This study aims to examine the smoking cessation intervention for adolescent smoking off campus. In-depth interviews were conducted on eight counselors who had a year or more year of counseling experience and 200 or more smoking cessation sessions across 17 regional smoking cessation clinics. The data were analyzed using the Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR) method. The findings from the study were derived from the three areas; smoking cessation intervention, effective recognition intervention, and obstacles to ceasing smoking, Sixteen subcategories were also derived from six categories. This study provides implications for effective interventions on adolescents smoking off campus.
